The next size down 24″ has teeth used to breakup soil / hard pan. used for excavating in rocky and clay material also used to break and load paving/concrete and tree roots stump materials. 18″ is used for digging shallow trenches for utilities such as gas/water/telephone sprinkler lines, it also has teeth for the excavation process.
